Specific code 2015 ICD-9-CM Diagnosis Code 745.2
Tetralogy of fallot
  • 2015
  • Billable Thru Sept 30/2015
  • Non-Billable On/After Oct 1/2015

  • ICD-9-CM 745.2 is a billable medical code that can be used to indicate a diagnosis on a reimbursement claim, however, 745.2 should only be used for claims with a date of service on or before September 30, 2015. For claims with a date of service on or after October 1, 2015, use an equivalent ICD-10-CM code (or codes).
Convert to ICD-10-CM: 745.2 converts directly to:
  • 2015/16 ICD-10-CM Q21.3 Tetralogy of Fallot
Approximate Synonyms
  • Dextraposition of aorta in Fallot's tetralogy
  • Dextroposition of aorta in tetralogy of Fallot
  • Tetralogy of Fallot
  • Tetralogy of Fallot w absent pulmonary valve
  • Tetralogy of Fallot w pulmonary atresia
  • Tetralogy of Fallot w pulmonary stenosis
  • Tetralogy of Fallot w ventricular septal defect
  • Tetralogy of fallot with absent pulmonary valve
  • Tetralogy of fallot with pulmonary atresia
  • Tetralogy of fallot with pulmonary stenosis
  • Tetralogy of fallot with ventricular septal defect
  • Ventricular septal defect in Fallot's tetralogy
Clinical Information
  • A combination of congenital heart defects consisting of four key features including ventricular septal defects; pulmonary stenosis; right ventricular hypertrophy; and a dextro-positioned aorta. In this condition, blood from both ventricles (oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor) is pumped into the body often causing cyanosis
  • A congenital heart disorder characterized by the presence of the following four abnormalities: ventricular septal defect, pulmonary stenosis, overriding aorta, and right ventricular hypertrophy
  • Combination of congenital cardiac defects consisting of pulmonary stenosis, interventricular septal defect, dextroposition of the aorta so that it overrides the interventricular septum and receives venous as well as arterial blood, and right ventricular hypertrophy
745.2 Excludes
Applies To
  • Fallot's pentalogy
  • Ventricular septal defect with pulmonary stenosis or atresia, dextraposition of aorta, and hypertrophy of right ventricle

ICD-9-CM codes are used in medical billing and coding to describe diseases, injuries, symptoms and conditions. ICD-9-CM 745.2 is one of thousands of ICD-9-CM codes used in healthcare. Although ICD-9-CM and CPT codes are largely numeric, they differ in that CPT codes describe medical procedures and services. Can't find a code?
