  • 2015
  • Non-Billable Code

  • There are 3 ICD-9-CM codes below 410.9 that define this diagnosis in greater detail. Do not use this code on a reimbursement claim.
Clinical Information
  • Gross necrosis of the myocardium, as a result of interruption of the blood supply to the area
  • Gross necrosis of the myocardium, as a result of interruption of the blood supply to the area, as in coronary thrombosis
  • Necrosis of the myocardium, as a result of interruption of the blood supply to the area. It is characterized by a severe and rapid onset of symptoms that may include chest pain, often radiating to the left arm and left side of the neck, dyspnea, sweating, and palpitations
Applies To
  • Acute myocardial infarction NOS

ICD-9-CM codes are used in medical billing and coding to describe diseases, injuries, symptoms and conditions. ICD-9-CM 410.9 is one of thousands of ICD-9-CM codes used in healthcare. Although ICD-9-CM and CPT codes are largely numeric, they differ in that CPT codes describe medical procedures and services. Can't find a code?
