Behavior therapy
- A behavior therapy technique in which deep muscle relaxation is used to inhibit the effects of graded anxiety-evoking stimuli.
- A practice whereby tokens representing money, toys, candy, etc., are given as secondary reinforcers contingent upon certain desired behaviors or performances.
- A therapeutic regimen in which the patient is guided by the therapist into alternate relaxation and flexing of muscles throughout the body as a method of pain control. It is related to guided imagery and distraction and attention therapies.
